As always we at Dieselbikes can only complete these trail workdays with help from the local bike community.  Individuals such as you help us get the job done and we look forward meeting new people as well as our dedicated trail team.  Get out your picks, sharpen your cutters and get ready for for a fun interesting year of trail building!

Lynn Woods 2008 Trail Maintenance Series:

Dieselbikes is proud to announce our 2008 Lynn Woods Trail Maintenance Series. The dates are set and all of our proposed projects have been approved.  We are going to start the season off with a huge project involving cutting a new section of trail leading down the back side of Bow Ridge near the power lines to the newly approved El Sweeny Trail.  Below is a brief outline of these upcoming trail maintenance days.

Scheduled Trail Work Day: May 31st, 2008

The section highlighted in blue on the work map below shows the general area of trail work.  A section of Ridge Run Trail has become unappealing over the past few years.  We have received approval to repair and recondition the trail that should result in fixing a number of it current unappealing problems.  Much preparation will be required before the pending trail day, but such re-condition will include short re-routes, rock armoring, bench cutting and trail bordering.  Our goal is to make this trail more favorable to all park users by developing better line of sight and add directional flow to the existing trail.

Scheduled Trail Work Day: September 14th, 2008

The section highlighted in blue on the work map below shows the general area of trail work. Sections of Overlook Trail that runs from marker D4-6 up to Overlook Crag have sever erosion and drainage problems.  This is an old section of trail with a number of rocks and sand exposed.  During heavy rain and wet seasons, much of the trail acts as drainage for the surround area.  We have received approval to re-route a few of these eroded sections to more stable ground and allow this original section to re-vegetate.

Scheduled Trail Work Day: October 12th, 2008

The section highlighted in blue on the work map below shows the general area of trail work.  A section of trail that connects Ridge Run & Ball Field Trail has become heavily eroded over the years.  This is a fun trail section and with a little bit of work we can make it fun, flowy and appealing to all park users.  We have received approval for this repair and recondition that will include, rock armoring, bench cutting and trail bordering.

Tompson St. Reservation B & T's 2008 Trail Maintenance Series:

Dieselbikes is in the process of work with land managers for the area that consist of Bruce & Tom's.  We plan on hosting a 2008 Trail Maintenance Program in conjunction with other local trail advocacy groups.  Once we have finalized these plans and obtain approval from all parties, we will post all related information for each trail event.
